10/01/2025 | 5 min read

The Greiner Group has once again achieved the coveted Platinum status in the EcoVadis Sustainability Rating, scoring 89 out of 100 points. EcoVadis is the world’s largest platform for corporate sustainability ratings. With this new top result, Greiner ranks among the top one percent of companies worldwide for the second year in a row.

Highest recognition for the entire group

The Platinum award applies to the entire Greiner Group, including the divisions Greiner Packaging, Greiner Bio-One and NEVEON. Compared to the previous year, the Group improved its score by nine points, reaching its best result to date.

“This renewed Platinum rating reflects the comprehensive integration of sustainability into our business processes and is by no means something we take for granted. As a group, we must continue to evolve to maintain this standard. Our thanks go to the entire team – because only together can we achieve such a result.”

Sabine Schellander, Director Corporate Sustainability at Greiner

The significance of the EcoVadis rating

EcoVadis has a network of more than 150,000 companies worldwide. The assessment covers the categories:

  • Environment
  • Labor and human rights
  • Ethics
  • Sustainable procurement

Awards are given in Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum – with Platinum being the highest possible recognition. Independent ratings such as this are important for building transparency and trust and are gaining increasing relevance in financial markets.

Greiner not only undergoes the EcoVadis assessment itself but also uses the rating as a benchmark in collaboration with partners. By 2030, the Group aims to work exclusively with strategic suppliers that achieve a minimum score of 50 points in the EcoVadis rating.

Sustainability as an ongoing transformation

This award demonstrates that the Greiner Group is continuously improving. At the same time, the company is fully aware that many further steps are needed to drive sustainable transformation. Especially in challenging times, successes like this are an important signal, making the work of Greiner’s many experts visible. EcoVadis is a key building block in this process, but just one of many in the Group’s long-term sustainability strategy.
